Pretty Angel

Wow it's been a long time! School has been busy busy, i have problems with words and im also lazy.. so yes...

BUT! Here's a post, so that's something:)

I posted this on my Art Amino account (@Tea-chan if anyone wants to add me or chat or something^^)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I was 2, in 1998, i got a baby sister. She had this almost coal black hair and deep dark eyes, and she had an adorably chubby smile. Unfortunately her heart was underdeveloped and didn't work properly. Half a year into this world she left again.. Even if i was only 2, and she was only with us for half a year, i loved her so very much💔
Today, February 12th, she would have been 18. She would be able to drive and drink and she'd be counted as an adult.. She'd been choosing what to do with her future, or maybe she would already know.. Maybe she would have had a boyfriend. Maybe a job she loved, or hated.. But she doesn't.. And thinking of that makes me sad..
I have made it my personal tradition to draw an angel in this day every year.. They are never finished, only sketches really, but that is for me a symbol of how she wasn't supposed to go yet; she wasn't finished in this world, but got taken away too too soon..
I make these images with only her in mind.
Dear sister, wherever you are; I send you my love❤️ Happy Birthday.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the secrets of the Universe - My first PROPER bookreview (。・ω・。)
This book is written by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Published February 21st 2012
I have something I want to say about this book: I LOVED IT
First: Wow, the title. It is so long!! I have never really liked one-word booktitles.. Because i like the title to say something about the book. When i am done reading the book i want to look at the title and see what it means. I want to remember the book and why i loved it, and that is just so much harder when the booktitles are short.
But not this one ( ノ^ω^)ノ゚ I love the title and the way it's formulated and <3!
Second: The names! I love reading books where the characters have names that are different. Some may argue that since i read fantasy books there are a lot of books that have unordianry names, and with that the names isn't that different anymore.. But I like "special" names.
Names doesn't do much to us readers except give us something to call the character by, but i still much more enjoy reading names like; Aristotle, Dante, Sapphire, Celaena, Katsa and Toraf over Emma, Jacob and Alex.. So yea.. Love the names (.=^・ェ・^=)
Third: Aristotle and Danter are gay! I have never read a book where any characters are gay, except Raffin and Brann from Graceling, but they barely get any time in the book so we don't really see it other than that one line saying Raffin likes boys and the looks that pass between them. I am all for homosexuality and people who are gay to feel free and proud and confident to tell that to the world. And so i am thrilled that this is my first book with a gay protagonist and this theme so centered.
The story is told from Aristotle's (or Ari) point of view. Sarting this book, we start with a pretty clean slate. Ari is basically friendless and does a lot of thinking, so as we see this story from Ari's perspective this helps us paint a picture of him and the world around him without it seeming forced. It feels like you where just put in his head and all the information comes to you in a natural way.
Also; Ari doesn't start out gay, in fact he's 15 and doesn't really have any experience with relationships. As i said he doesn't really have any friends, but he likes it that way. He thinks all boys are a waste of space or will grow up to be, and girl are just mysteries. He likes thinking of the world as a lot of mysteries. Ari is very conflicted inside about his family and himself, where he belongs and who he is. And i really liked that about him. Maybe because i could understand much of how he felt.
One day at the pool he meet a boy named Dante, who offers Aristotle to teach him to swim. Dante is very different from other boys. He is like a breath of fresh air. He is very honest and open, and he is always only himself. I absolutely love the bond Aristotle and Dante forms. They are so different, yet they seem to just fit each other so well. And reading about how they discover themselves was just beautiful.
Another thing i liked was the parents in this story. Very often the parents are not there or irresposable or something along those lines. But here the parents are so present in the story. They have a family bond like a proper family. And i love reading Ari or Dante talking to their parents; just the quick lines and comebacks seem so real like real boys talking to their parents (which is what it's supposed to be)
I think this story is cleverly written. Benjamon does a really good job of mixing what's happening in the plot with Aristotle's though, past and presesnt, while still planting these little seeds of feelings and what's going to happen. It is done so that no thoughts or actions feels forced for the plot, but natural. I felt like i discovered Ari's feelings along with him as i read.
I recommend this book to everyone! The book is light (about 3-400 pages on my ipad) and it's a pageturner 〜(^∇^〜)
Yay new style! 。◕‿◕。
I have been experimenting with a new draing style for the last days, and i am really happy with the way they turned out :D
I have had this story in my head for, i think almost 5 years now, but i have had problems finding the style that best expresses what i see in my head..
I have always made different drawings. Never being able to stick to a certain style for more than, like, two sketches, before i use a different style again.. It has been really frustrating to not be able to draw the same thing twice... But i really want to keep my drawings in this kind of style.. This, i think, is the closest i have ever come to what i have imagined my main character to look like. at least when i comes to the head (eyes, nose, mouth and hair) I still need to work with thrying to make it a habit to draw like this. And of course i need to find a body style that i like to draw and dot he same with that..
I also need major practice with drawing clothes.. not only with the basic like shape and material (thick and thin), but also fashion.. Drawing clothes in layers and things other than basic t-shirts, skirts, or thick weird looking sweaters..
This is Miki. She's the main character of the story i have been thinking about^^
So yeah bye
I just can't stand that! ┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻
Okay I just want to rant a little...
I have read a LOT of manga and for quite some time now i've been reading a lot of romance.. I have quite a few troubles finding good manga as of late.. The first is the art style.. although i feel pretty open about the art style there are 2 things i don't like; nr 1 is manhwa (i just don't like it... even if i LIKE the story i have troubles reading because of the style) and the second is when it is or looks really old.. when you don't have proper lines and it's hard to see.... another problem is when they rush the romance.. I really hate it when the story goes from "Oh my heart is beating" to "I LOVE you so much. I'd sacrifice ANYTHING to be with you" in the matter of 3 effin' pages! It moves so fast that i just don't believe in their feelings at all, thus making it hard to read the rest because the rest of the story revolves around the relationship.
But my biggest problems is when the main heroine is a friggin doormat! I jst hate it sooooo much when they just go along and take the shit thrown at them without a fight! I seriously get mad WHILE reading. I get that certain things HAS to happen and all that, but i want and need to see the character ACTUALLY TRY to stop whatever happenes without their consent. It's not enough with a "B-but..." *some talking* "wait".... and then they just give up.. I mean WHAT IS THAT? I have started several manga and then just dropped them because i get furious with the main character bending and bending..
This has annoyed me for SUCH a long time now...
Whew.... that was good getting of my chest... You're welcome to leave a comment about what you think of this matter or if you have other things you can't stand to see.
